Roll call was made by Sukumar David with a brief welcome.  Mumbai Rajyalakshmi could not attended the meeting as she met with accident 3 days before EC meeting on her behalf proxy member Merlin.

Opening prayer by Kamal Perera- Srilanka, during the prayer we all very much remembered Rev.Tatsuo Miyake who passed away last year and observed a minute silence.

Followed by welcome address by Sanjeev Kumar.  In his address he tanked one and all for giving AYC-Hyderabad Chapter an opportunity to organize 8th AYC General Assembly and wished all of them a comfortable stay in Hyderabad.

Chapter wise Presentations

Chennai :  Chennai chapter highlighted the work being done among the street children and the help line being accessed by the children who are in difficult circumstances.  Rev Mitsou Miyake clarified whether any of the children also working as out reach team members Merlin explained yes there are children who are motivated and work as street educators.  Merlin also highlighted the tsunami relief work and the follow-up done by the Chennai Chapter.

Srilanka :  Kamal Perera in his presentation said about the empowering the vulnerable, specific concerns, he talked about the ethnic harmony, programme related relief and rehabilitation.  Identified families were those who lost their father, children affected in tsunami, universal peace initiative, literacy, medication programme for the peace of country.  As an active AYC Organisation it is our bonded duty to respond to the social needs, problems like displacement.

Bangladesh
: Refer Global link, Habib suggested that all the young leaders to submit the reports in advanced so that it is captured in the global link ( long boring reports).  Southern Bangladesh tube wells were contaminated.  We have to seal those tube wells but the problem is there is no alternate water supply.  One Bangladeshi received international award for bring out the low cost tube wells.  He shared his experience of visiting Mumbai.

Kolkata : Dr.Sourav Das before his presentation expressed grief one the death of Rev.Tatsuo Miyake and said that they have conveyed prayers in Kolkata for his soul and peace.  Refer Global link.

Two programmes 1. City based   : like Pollution, Parents counseling conceptual by OB member Arundathi.
                             2. Rural Based : Three villages they have adopted- Health, Hygiene and drinking water.

AYC-Japan :  WCRP-Tokyo meeting WCRP founded by Rev.Toshio Miyake, Global link magazine to be translated in Japanese.

AYC-Hyderabad chapter- Refer Global Link

WFM-Dues Rev.Mitsou Miyake clarified that they will pay 50% funds from the head quarters in the years 2007 ad balance 50% in 2008

AYC Kolkata : As AYC is having his own website there was some discussion whether to continue the global link or not.  The suggestion was that at least half yearly once the global link should be come forward.

AYC Kolkata came forward to continue the responsibility for editing the global link, how ever it was made open to all the chapters to volunteer for global link responsibility.  All the members suggested AYC Kolkata will continue to bring the global link and appreciated the efforts of Dr.Sourav Das.

Head quarter’s statement of accounts for the period of 2006-07, AYC-Hyderabad funds and global link expenses statement has been circulated to all the members.

Dr.Sourav Das has proposed in his place Mr. Krishnendu who was associated for last 10 years and an active Rotrat member.  Dr. Sourav Das assured his continued support to AYC and the board members welcomed Krishnendu as EC member AYC-Kolkata.

Kamal Perera proposed about the Indonesia as a new chapter under AYC, Kamal perara explained that AYC chapter will formed according to the rules of the country.  All the EC members agreed Kamal Pereras visit to Indonesia and have a discussion to stat the new chapter for which AYC Head quarters funds 700 US$ will be paid.  This will be some times in the month of May.  Kamal perera will submit the report the discussions carried out in Indonesia.

The next EC meeting Venue:  The proposed venue suggested has been Nepal; EC meeting once in 2 years, meeting will be in the year 2009.  Tentatively it was decided to have the 9th General Assembly.

Concluding remarks by Mitsou Miyake: Iam listening to all the chapters’ activities and quite interesting to note the developments.
